Prof. M. D. Tahir Karadeniz

Prof. Karadeniz has started to work as a urologist at the Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital in 1992 and returned to his clinic after receiving his education at Manheim Urology Clinic of the University of Heidelberg in Germany in 1995. He introduced some innovations in surgical developments that haven't been applied until then at the Okmeydani Training as the following: "Surgery for the treatment of urethral strictures (urethroplasty) occurred as the result of the urinary tract rupture after traffic accidents"; ''Partial nephrectomy surgery in kidney cancer where only the cancerous section is removed"; "Radical cystectomy surgery in advanced bladder cancer where the bladder is removed ;'' URS and percutaneous surgery (PCNL) operations where the urinary tract stones are treated in closed (endoscopic) way ''. In the past, these operations weren't done in this clinic, but now, they are routinely performed.

He obtained his title of "Associate Professor of Urology" in the first examination in 1996. He won the first and only central examination carried out by OSYM (Evaluation, Selection and Placement Center) with a degree and became Chief of Urology Clinic (Director) at Okmeydani Training and Research Hospital in 1998.

Between 2000 and 2002 he continued visiting urology clinics in United States of America on ''Female urology- Urine incontinence'' and “Urological cancer surgery''; he also got training in Switzerland on " Radical cystectomy and new bladder reconstruction using intestines" for advanced bladder cancer treatment. Upon his return to Okmeydani Hospital, he started off "Radical Prostatectomy" in prostate cancer treatment, surgical management of female urinary incontinence and new bladder reconstruction using intestines routinely in Department of Urology.

He won the exam of the European Association of Urology (EAU) in 2003.

During his duty as the chief of the Urology Department for 14 years (1998-2012) Prof. Karadeniz trained 12 urology residents to earn their degree of Specialist in Urology.

He conducted sessions in 30 professional meeting /symposium as a president, a panelist speaker and a course trainer to residents receiving urology specialization training

He was appointed to the professor position in 2013. He is also working in Liv Hospital Ulus İstanbul (Besiktas) now.
