What is Orthotopic Neobladder Surgery?

Removing the bladder is only treatment for certain types of bladder cancer. After the removal of bladder we reconstruct a new one from intestine which is called orthotopic bladder.

If this surgery is performed by a well experienced surgeon the patient should expect the following benefits of the new bladder:

  • No urinary incontinence during day time (when he is awake),
  • Urinating easily,
  • Complete emptying of bladder,
  • Rare urinary infection.
